Thank you, Colleen. Someone very dear to me talks about “not giving away your gold” and I’ve also read it described as others needing to “earn the right to hear our story”. It’s not about being closed off or shutting people out, but honoring and protecting our own treasures, and not tossing them out indiscriminately where they can fall in the mud of judgment, criticism and ridicule.
